iPhone 18 release delayed!

With the addition of foldable iPhones, Apple's iPhone product launch schedule will undergo some changes starting in 2026.
First, next spring, Apple will release the iPhone 17e model as per tradition.

As the entry-level model in the iPhone 17 lineup, the iPhone 17e is expected to feature the same 6.1-inch display with wide bezels and 60Hz refresh rate as the iPhone 16, powered by the A19 chip and Apple's in-house modem.
The main focus, of course, remains on the September 2026 fall product launch event. At this “tech extravaganza,” Apple is expected to unveil:
■ iPhone Fold
■ iPhone 18 Pro
■ iPhone 18 Pro Max
Among these, the iPhone Fold is Apple's first foldable iPhone, which has now entered the engineering verification phase.
This iPhone Fold utilizes a Samsung inner display, but the panel structure and manufacturing process were designed by Apple itself. Apple collaborated with suppliers to develop a hinge mechanism that prevents permanent creasing, achieving a virtually “crease-free” experience.

Apple is currently testing high-density batteries for its foldable iPhone, with capacities ranging between 5400mAh and 5800mAh.
The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models will feature redesigned displays, specifically with a smaller Dynamic Island punch-hole, further increasing the front screen-to-body ratio.

The rear camera remains a large horizontal module, with testing underway for a variable aperture system. The aperture for the periscope telephoto lens will also be enlarged.
Notably, an earlier report from The Information indicated that the standard iPhone 18 model will be delayed until spring 2027.

It is reported that Apple plans to launch a more expensive, high-end iPhone in the fall, while placing the cheaper entry-level and base models in the spring release. The company hopes to boost iPhone sales by adjusting the release schedules of different models. Therefore, in the spring of 2027, Apple is expected to release the following models:
■ iPhone 18
■ iPhone 18e
■ iPhone Air 2
The release date change for the standard iPhone 18 is likely part of Apple's planned strategy. However, the delay for the iPhone Air 2 stems from this year's iPhone Air sales underperforming significantly below Apple's expectations. This has prompted Apple to adjust the iPhone Air 2's specifications and postpone its launch.
